Camping in sweden seems to take on a whole different dimensions. Folk like us who prefer a touch of comfort goes for a sovstuga ie a little hut with bunk beds,a fridge and even a coffee maker! Then there are those who come with a big campervan and sets up ‘house’ for months. All equipped with a huge canopy for the outer seating area, wooden sofa and the few flower pots..oh what’s camping without the satellite dish to watch the latest worldcup games! Now thats what I call real camping! Sent using a Sony Ericsson mobile phone

Now that I finally join the new generation ie being connected to the www with a mobile…i am doing it with rage! I am checking my gmail every other hour, look who’s online on msn, what everyone is up to on facebook and finally telling everyone what I am doing too! (Now I am blogging on the bus to stockholm) Have I joined the generation where we need to be online constantly? Mmm did I completely lose touch with the world when I not online for a week on malta…not really..or should I just accept that the world has changed and our lives are so intertwine and connected?

Discovered a new spot close to Gavle for “dip” in the water when it was still warm, water was warm (finally more than 20degC), but it was completely dark copper colour which makes it a bit scary to swim.. kinda expecting annaconda to pop up anytime! .. Took a shot at my taller half tanning on the water…

Tanning in Hillevik... totally in tune with the nature

After a week of running nose and sneezing, my cold was finally getting better and I thought it will be nice to visit the new Marine festival in town… It was ok with 10-20 boats lining up the canal.. the most impressive being the Brig Gerda, a replica of a vessel build in 1868

From Gavle Marine Festival

But the highlight of the night (to me at least since I am not a big boat person), are the performance by Jack Vreeswijk (a dutch son)

… and Thomas Di Leva (the Gavle “Jesus” in disguise)… I got to say that Thomas Di Leva was definitely a pleasant suprise.  Huge crowd were to watch him since Di Leva was born in Gavle..  and his music is rather special… and he was funny too… Love is the most important thing, there is no we and them, there are only earthlings….

here’s a shot from my newW995 from a distance

Now its time for me to prepare for my own boating trip… one of the famous 24hour “Finland Cruise” on Birka Paradise….

Finally started to bake again… and yesterday with a friend coming for coffee, I had to whip up something quick… ended up with 5 super large chocolate chip muffins… First time trying the recipe and it turned out awesome!

Here’s a pic of the MEGA-Muffins I baked!

From Food glorious Food

Chocolate Chip Muffins
(12 servings)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup light-brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup butter — melted and cooled
2 eggs – beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package (12 oz) chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans — chopped
Preheat oven to 400 F. and grease up twelve muffin cups.

In a large bowl, stir together flour, sugars, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, stir together milk, eggs, butter, and vanilla until blended. Make a well in center of dry ingredients; add milk mixture and stir just to combine. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Spoon batter into muffin cups; bake 15-20 minutes, or until a knife inserted in center of one muffin comes out clean. Remove muffin tin to wire rack; cool 5 minutes and remove from tins to finish cooling.

Serve warm.

May not be the smartest phone like Iphone, the 8Megapix camera is just superb… Thats my main objective, I can finally start shooting pics again and with my cell… too lazy to carry another camera and mmm the best shots are always when one does not have the cam!

2 weeks ago, I have had my 3rd housewarming party in Sweden! (gosh.. was it that often i move house?!).. More than 20 guests were here at my place and boy, it was crowded! We had lots of food.. yes I cooked and cooked all day and thoroughly enjoyed it.. and I hope the guests enjoyed it too.  Then we cheered for Malena in the Eurovision 2009.. Demet cheered for her Turkish representative (some real good belly dancing there), Katja cheered on the Ukrainian rep and unfortunately the dutch gay uncles did not qualified for the finals… Finally it was the Norwegian cute singer that finally got the big prize!!!

well, we got a lots of presents too from our friends…chocolate, coffee, a garden frog and finally a grass-clipper ! Thanks to all our friends who came… and here is a picture of our grass clipper and the hardworking gardener!

Its end of April and the weather is still not very forgiving with temperatures dropping below zero celcius in the nights. Its the time of the year when I still wonder why do I not live in Malaysia where it is 27C everyday!
Well one of the reason why I stay on in Sweden is of course the friends that I have and the rare warm sunny Spring days… and we did have one of those during easter! Had a small BBQ party with some of my dearest friends in Gavle/Sandviken… Here are the pics of the grill masters, the Dutch rockstar and also the Spanish star of the whole BBQ!
